Many Christians jump into a long degree program, not knowing where it will take them. If you are finishing school, changing jobs, making life changes that call for fresh direction, and your heart is to serve God, maybe take a pause in a place where the air is clear.
In March next year, 2026, Sequoia Academy will launch an intern program, Hands-On. It will run in single term modules.
Based in Bathurst, two hours from Sydney, we are partnering with rural churches engaged in kingdom-building in the toughest season of the modern church. A resilient new generation is needed to reshape the emerging church.
The cornerstone of this project is formal mentoring, training and pathways into your future ministry. Ministry may not be shaped the way you imagine. It may not be the job you expected. Our team of seasoned professionals can help you envision a future that makes a difference.
Internship - a spiritual stretch
There will be limited places in our hands-on live-in, face-to-face, real-deal ministry internship. Sure, there will be worship, prayer, leading, and growing, but the most important thing is people. You will work with young and old people in support programs, and most of them are not Christians. On a daily basis you will meet Australians on the edge, people who are alone and poor or old, but also homeless, battling mental health, domestic violence, or addictions. It will challenge your attitudes and grace-giving.
